AA would not attend breakdown they said phone the police and ask them to move it to a safe location
as they deemed it a ''live lane'' (inside lane of a dual carriage way) the police said it was safe for recovery
and even after police spoke to them they still refused to attend.
Such calls are not recorded but just logged. So they don't have a true record of what is said. Absolutely
ridiculous practise of working I feel.

Apparently they are only allowed to assist when the vehicle is out of the traffic flow
also they are not allowed to attend ''live lane'' incidents without the express permission
of the relevant authorities.
That must rule out most of the roads!

What was the song accompanying their advert? oh yes, You just call out my name and you know
wherever I am I'll come running to see you again, winter spring summer or fall all you have to do is call
and I'll be Ihere!

Not very happy especially as had to pay £150+vat for local firm.

AA don't do as it says on the box!

Hidebound by Guidelines and Traditions, I'm afraid! Not the service I would expect for all that money, but then I only put a very small donation into my regular Pot collection (averages less than £1.00/head/meeting).

I am a helpline operator, and had a guy on the other day complaining that we hadn't moved a tree that had fallen down in front of his car. As a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, there wasn't a great deal I could do for him but sympathise. At least he could go and drown his sorrows in a pint, which I couldn't.

Nice to hear from you, bowlerchappie, and you too have my sympathy. Unfortunately, the Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous also prevent me from recommending a better breakdown service, but you know where to come when drowning your sorrows stops working, and you need help to stop drinking.
